어반 레이어 | 도시의 틈새를 밝히는 빛

제주 연삼로에 위치한 연삼로 클리닉은 도심의 조밀한 상업가로 속에서도 투명하고 질서 있는 입면을 통해 주변 건물들과 차별화되는 도시형 근린생활시설입니다. 건물은 한정된 대지 조건 속에서 최대한의 개방감을 확보하기 위해, 입면 전체를 수직 리듬이 강조된 프레임 구조로 계획했습니다.

이 건물은 사무와 주거가 혼합된 복합 프로그램으로 구성되어 있습니다. 각 층은 기능에 따라 독립적으로 작동하면서도, 파사드의 연속된 프레임을 통해 하나의 건축적 질서로 묶입니다.

외관은 콘크리트와 유리의 단정한 조합으로 이루어져 있으며, 깊이 있는 입면 프레임이 자연광의 흐름을 조절하면서 입체적인 그림자를 만들어 냅니다. 특히 도로변에서 바라볼 때, 투명한 유리와 반투명한 입면이 교차하며 도시 속 ‘빛의 틈’을 만들어내고자 하였습니다.

연삼로 클리닉은 단순한 상업 건물을 넘어, 도시의 일상 속에 자연스러운 리듬과 휴식의 공간을 제시하는 소규모 건축의 새로운 가능성을 보여줍니다.

Urban Layer | Light Between the City Layers

Located on Yeonsam-ro in Jeju, the St. Yeonsam Clinic Building distinguishes itself from the dense commercial surroundings through a transparent and orderly façade that expresses an urban sensibility. Within a compact site, the building was designed with a vertically rhythmic frame structure to maximize openness and daylight penetration.

The building accommodates a mixed-use program that combines office and residential spaces. Each floor operates independently according to its function, yet the continuous façade frames unify them within a coherent architectural order.

The exterior features a restrained combination of concrete and glass, with deep façade frames that modulate natural light and cast sculptural shadows. From the street, the interplay between transparent glass and semi-transparent surfaces creates a subtle “gap of light” within the urban fabric.

More than a simple commercial building, the St. Yeonsam Clinic Building introduces a sense of rhythm and repose into everyday urban life, presenting a new possibility for small-scale architecture in the city.
